Kids and Gaming--One Year Later. Still Keeping up with your ABCs?
Session Description
In 2008, Rich Weil and Rebecca Newton gave a highly-regarded lecture about regulatory challenges in kids’ gaming. They've returned to share a comprehensive update that will closely examine how the kids gaming landscape is evolving. Expanding on last year's discussion, which focused primarily upon regulatory issues, this follow-up lecture will include a broader range of topics useful to everyone in the gaming and community industry. Regulatory issues, community and support will be revisited, and this year they'll present an in-depth look at financial issues such as the relative merit and success of different business models, from subscription to freemium games.

Takeaway
Attendees will come away with an update on US and UK regulatory requirements and compliance in the kids gaming industry and advice on Behavior Relations Management. The history over the last year of financial business models in kids’ games (successes and failures). Finally, the changing demographic of the kids gaming industry (numbers, problems and solutions) and staff education and development.
